Proprietor and Co-Owner, Stark Reality Restaurants, Sonoma County California
Terri Stark is co-owner and operator with her husband Mark of seven thriving and highly rated restaurants in Sonoma County, each with a different dining concept under the umbrella of the Stark Reality Restaurants management group. In 2022 the Starks celebrated the 20th anniversary of their first restaurant, Willi’s Wine Bar. In early 2023 they announced that they will open their eighth restaurant, Augie’s French, in Downtown Santa Rosa in the summer of 2023. Five other dining establishments round out the Starks roster: Willi’s Seafood & Raw Bar (2003), Bravas Bar de Tapas (2012) in Healdsburg, Monti’s (2004), Stark’s Steak & Seafood (2008), Bird & The Bottle (2015), and Grossman’s Noshery & Bar (2020) in Santa Rosa. With just under 500 employees, Stark Reality Restaurants is one of the county’s largest employers. The Starks are hands-on owners and operators of their restaurants and have focused on creating environments where diners want to return again and again. While Mark oversees the culinary side of the business, Terri handles all business operations for the group and develops the interior design concepts for each of the restaurants. A lifelong lover of entertaining, Terri holds a degree in Leisure Studies from the University of Oregon with a concentration on hospitality. In 2013 Terri and Mark were semifinalists for the James Beard Award for Outstanding Restaurateur, the food world’s equivalent of an Academy Award. They make their home in Santa Rosa with their two bulldogs, Millie and Mortie.
